Your Register news team is transforming its online coverage to better serve the information needs of our Orange County community.
Our goal is to provide the news and information you need when you need it and deliver it the way you want it.
Our efforts are guided by the following 8 core areas of coverage that we call our “pillars”:
Local: We will be the essential source of news and information about Orange County. This is the core of what we stand for at the Register.
Digital: We will provide you with relevant local news in a real-time way throughout the day. We will use every venue at our disposal to get you the news when you need it.
Public Service: We will look out for the public trust and serve as your watchdog.
Community Content: We will give voice to the community by creating a place for you to share information with each other and with us.
Databases: We will present data and information in a useful way that makes it easier for you to search and sort to find answers to your questions.
Video/Photo: We will bring you the sights and sounds of Orange County as the go-to source for photos and videos that capture our shared experiences.
Visual Storytelling: We will help you gain a deeper understanding of issues in the news using interactive graphics, charts and animation.
Innovation: We will tirelessly explore ways to better serve you by developing new products and services to meet your changing needs.

All of these underlie the Register’s desire to create a place where readers can find useful, relevant news and information, whether it’s created by the staff or the community.
